Our internet has been up and down all day, at just that annoying rate that allows you to load pages and then makes you hit reload to actually see them. Sigh. But there's lovely fall rain. I love fall.

[livejournal.com profile] timprov posted about this on his lj, but I wanted to post it here just in case it was insufficiently certain over there: we're planning on going to a Josh Ritter concert on Wednesday, October 17, at the Cedar Cultural Center. The Cedar classifies him as "singer-songwriter," which is as apt as anything. Guy With Guitar. He's fairly new to us, so I can't be as much of a screaming fangirl in advance as I am for some of the concerts we've been to. But I do very much like "Lawrence, Kansas" and "Snow Is Gone" and the one that's linked from T's lj and...everything else I've heard, basically; it's just not a concert where I'll be able to sing along with every song. We have ability to give a few people rides if you want to go with, or we can look for you there. Speak up.

One of the things I've been doing lately is trying to step back and let the people who say, "I'll e-mail you about tea," actually, y'know, e-mail me about tea. Rather than always being the one to e-mail them. This is resulting in somewhat less tea, but that's generally okay. People can pursue my social time for awhile, while I pursue energy and quiet a little more assiduously.

My back has been really fairly nasty this weekend, but the up side of that is noticing how nasty it hasn't been otherwise lately. Hurrah; and tomorrow I have an appointment to return it to non-nastiness, so hurrah again.

I have not been a fan of fall. I think fall and I got off on the wrong foot because it marked the end of summer vacation when I was a student. In the years since then, it marked the end of the long days and the beginning of the depressing months where I went to work in the dark only to return home in the dark.

Now that I have rather more control of my schedule, though, I'm thinking I might come to love fall as well. Certainly it's got the best weather of the year.

I think this may be the silver lining to the utter idiocy that is starting school in mid-August in Nebraska, in a school district where half of the buildings are un-air-conditioned: starting school is a summer thing for me.

Ritter! I have tickets too.

And I am a have-not-e-mailed-you-back about Tea. *hangs head* Must fix. To e-mail now I go.

We will look for you there to swap howdies, unless you would prefer a ride.

E-mail is happening. Rah.
