[livejournal.com profile] johnjosephadams notes a World Fantasy Con event for Saturday: "1:00 PM - Shimmer: The Pirate Issue. Featuring readings from: Rajan Khanna, Justine Graykin, J. Kathleen Cheney, Jill Snider Lum, and Marissa K. Lingen."

So there I am. Stop by and have a listen. I promise not to say yarrr, or shiver your timbers, or anything alarming like that.

Which of you should I look for at World Fantasy? And approximately when are you coming, and are you staying in the main hotel or somewhere else? If you want my cell phone number, e-mail me. I'm in the main hotel. I'm arriving around midday on Thursday and leaving again around midday on Sunday.

I have picked out which books to pack for on the plane, so, y'know. I'm ready. The rest is details, right?

I'm slightly amused to see where WFC is for 2008, given that it happens in autumn. "Think I'll go out to Alberta, weather's good there in the fall..." NY State ought to be beautiful too, unless the leaves have all fallen already.

I'm looking forward to Calgary for all sorts of reasons. Seems like a great choice to me. Last year in Texas had its good points, but it wasn't fall at all!

My nephew published in Shimmer last year (but not in the pirate issue, sadly)--glad to know he's in such good company!

Who is your nephew? If you mind saying in public, are you willing to e-mail me?

I'm sure he doesn't mind--his name is John Parke Davis, and his story was about Halloween--I think that might have been the title. I just posted about his girlfriend publishing with Delacorte. I think he's really good himself, but he doesn't do novels and doesn't push the publishing (they're lawyers, and his job is even more high pressure than hers).

Well, nifty for both of them, then!

And here I was thinking that was a picture of you in a saucy witch hat.

It's [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's hat. It can be whatever she needs it to be, I think. It's just that kind of hat.
