Are you done now? Can you stop trying to leap out of my head (apparently, from the feel of it, yanking on the middle-ears on your way out)? Because I am not in any state to be writing you right this very minute, you stubborn, stubborn thing! I need to finish short stories! I need to revise this other novel! I need to not spend an hour at the computer making myself dizzy and miserable because of you! Okay? Okay?

I am not hearing an answering affirmation here. Books. Can't live without 'em, and living with them is a total PITA.

Dear Mris's Aesir noir book,

I promise, we'll still be here when she is ready to write you. We're patient. We're willing to wait for the awesomeness that will be you. Don't be afraid that we're going to lose interest and wander off. Now, give Mris some breaking space, 'kay?

Love,

The painted face reminds me that one of the things I loffloffloff about this book-to-be is the alternate noir Icelandic equivalent of Japanese cosplay girls, a sub-group of whom wear very stylized Hel make-up. (Things are a bit different around there since Baldr died.)

O_O

Don't tell me these things; you'll tempt me to start egging your book on!

Awhile ago, I thought, "How am I going to gather the focus to write another book when the others keep hanging in limbo without even rejections?" And then this week: oh, right. This is how.

If working at the computer makes you dizzy, is writing in a paper notebook any better? [livejournal.com profile] mmerriam does this sometimes for various reasons, including when looking at the computer is too straining for his eyes.

Writing in my paper journal is 1) different but 2) worse. What this means is that if I have pushed the computer time past its utmost, I can finish up in a paper journal (because it's not quite the same kind of bad), but I don't get very much time before it gets really pretty bad.
