Dear fingers:

Contrary to your impulse at least six times in the past 24 hours, it is not the Aesir nori novel. Okay? Noir. No wrapping Odin in seaweed.

Certain Parties suggest I should save that for a sequel. Certain Parties amuse me but may not be far wrong, alas.

Love,

Dear brain:

As long as you're eavesdropping on this sort of thing, noodling on a '30s gangster showdown between Njord and the daughters of Ran is really not the thing. No. Really not.

Dear ears:

Quiddit. I'm tryinna work here.

blink, blink
mouth opens
comment generator runs without useful results
mouth closes, lips quirk, forehead scrunches
turns, walks away

Well, if in your Aesir noir novel Odin ends up tangled in seaweed while swimming and a reader makes the pun, you can at least say that your fingers got there first.

Can I put in a bid for the Aesir to tangle Japanese deities in the sequel? nori or no, I think that'd be a really interesting mixture of cultures; they ave sailing & warrior culture & um, stuff, in common. Please?

That's not really how I approach sequel-writing, or writing in general, and in this particular setting it would take a lot of doing to get there from here. Maybe sometime. Not soon.

Are you saying there aren't hardboiled samurai and geishas-with-hearts-of-gold lurking somewhere in the depths of your writer brain? /sigh oh well.

In fact that is exactly what I'm saying.

There might be hardboiled Japanese private eyes and lounge singers with hearts of gold lurking somewhere in here, but if so, it's not in a very accessible compartment.

Maybe if there's a tie-in comic.

could we have Ursula illustrate it?

why would we want Ursula to illustrate a pony? It'd just wash off the next time it took a bath.

Ponies rarely take baths. But I'd think that brushing its coat might blur the designs some, so it'd be more along the lines of snow sculpture than human temporary illustration.
