mrissa: (think so do ya?)

There are moods in which it is extremely satisfying to write lines like:

"Returning to my point," said Janet, "piss off."

Even if I have no idea whether that'll stay in the final draft.

Byerly's has been consistently having issues with letting me order my groceries, but that's okay, right? because the vertigo has decided that I shouldn't eat food anyway. Blah. I have all sorts of lovely tisanes bought by myself or sent by friends, but for this I have fallen back on lemon chamomile, which I have been drinking since I was 15 or so and which has never -- well, actually it has failed me fairly often. But never catastrophically, and that seems important.

Harumphharumphharumphharumph.

I am now trying to imagine what a catastrophic failure of lemon chamomile tisane would look like, and it's rather alarming. I hope it doesn't cause craters to appear in the driveway or holes in the space-time continuum or anything.

And I'm quite in favor of such lines in drafts. They seem to have the same merits in the drafts of e-mails, sometimes, too.

Well, since a failure in lemon chamomile tisane is that it doesn't settle my stomach enough that I can eat, a catastrophic failure would be....

Come on now, I usually try not to spell this sort of thing out in all caps.

Ah. Good point. In that case, I wish you no catastrophic failures, or even ordinary operational failures of tisane, and a more settled digestion soon.

I like this vision of Janet a lot.

That is an excellent harumph icon. But I'm sorry about the not eating. Also, I wish I had a user name of Zinger to go with Zunger and Zwol.

And lemon!

Sorry. But if you did, it would.

"Returning to my point," said Janet, "piss off."

I *do* hope it stays in the final draft! That's a great line. And it's funny, 'cause it wouldn't work nearly as well without the mid-line cesura; "Returning to my point, piss off," said Janet. wouldn't be nearly so good - even though that's how a person (Janet) would say it.

Eh, I babble. Feel better!

Blah is right. Two steps forward, one step back.

Lemon tea of any kind is a marvelous thing. And since I can't wave wands and make it all better right now, I will hope lemon chamomile preforms to the max right now.

And that is a marvelous line. I hope it survives to the final draft.

I do hope you're feeling better this morning, and that Byerlys, who I didn't think were silly, get their act together.

They should be delivering between 3:00 and 5:00 this afternoon. Whew.

And of course there are moods in which reading such lines may have similar effects. Thank you for sharing.

As is the case far too often, hoping for better for you.
