2. Fleur de sel caramels in dark chocolate.

3. One per knee for me! And for the other family members, too, of course.

4. Short to-do list without many annoying items on it.

5. Finding a book just as good the second time reading it after a several-year gap.

Your turn.

1. Rick is done with my living room. (This one could be items 1, 2, and 3 right now.)

2. I am making progress getting the stuff that was packed away unpacked.

3. I can watch DVDs on my television again.

4. My order of sugar-free syrups arrived, and now I can add cinnamon, pumpkin pie, chocolate, or gingerbread flavors to my coffee, and make peach or raspberry Hawaiian ice.

5. My new DVR should arrive tomorrow or Saturday.

I order them from netrition.com. Their prices are reasonable, they have a great selection, and shipping is $4.95, no matter how much you order.

Thanks for the link. I'm getting Cinnamon, Kahlua, Gingerbread, and something called B-52; "Named for the famous bar drink made from KahlĂșa liqueur, Irish Cream and Grand Marnier," which I never heard of before, but sounds good. I hope it's not just redundant with the Kahlua.

I bought the B-52 syrup once -- the drink is a mix of Kahlua, Grand Marnier, and Bailey's -- and the B-52 tastes rather like Kahlua with a bit of orange. It was okay, but not great.

I really like the Pumpkin Pie flavor -- I think that's new since I ordered previously.

1. Impending arrival in the Mrissaverse!
2. Midday nap with the puppy dog (trying not to feel guilty about this).
3. $1 amaretto cake from Trader Joe's ... how could it be $1? It's lasted me about six desserts already.
4. Mary Roach, making me laugh and cringe at the same time since Christmas '08.
5, as always: TEA.

My five good things are: Daughter visiting last week for ye olde manne's birthday; and the 4 urban fantasy books she brought with her.

We both have a serious book addiction (and we both make a killer lentil soup when we've spent too much of the housekeeping money on books: but she adds cinnamon and dried apricots to hers, which gives it a Middle Eastern flavour; I add garam masala for an oriental kick. Either way, with home-made bread it's a feast!)

1. New version of eReader for iPhone/iPod touch. The new version has so much of my feature wishlist taken care of, one of the developers actually commented on my LJ with "Sheesh, did you sneak a copy of the feature list for the next version of eReader? :-)" before the release!

2. In related news, my HTML to PML conversion script is coming along nicely; I thought of an easy, elegant way to handle metadata extraction earlier today and will probably implement it later.

3. Still loving my "new" job immensely, and my team is about to be less short-handed starting next week. (There should be 4 of us; there have only been two since August. I'm honestly surprised we're keeping up as well as we have been.)

4. Got cheap flights to YUL for Worldcon. The fare even went down further between when I originally looked and said "hey, that's cheap enough to buy" and when I actually bought them. Bonus!

5. Feeling less sick today, so I'll probably go to work tomorrow or at worst get a fairly full day of work done from home. Then I'm off to Boskone, where I will hopefully be recovered enough to enjoy it properly. (I left this until last since I didn't want the whole list to be "things which suck less than they might", and it'd put me in that mindset if I didn't.)

2. Finding out that I do have enough money (barely).

3. Tomorrow is payday. Whoot.

4. I don't have to do anything tomorrow except read and write.

5. Watching lame scifi tv shows curled up in a blanket while it rains outside.

1. The large mirror is finally up in the Pilates studio! And it looks terrific, too.

2. Payday tomorrow. And while I didn't quite stick to the budget for the past two weeks, things have at least improved so that I have to pay back the loan I made to myself from savings (as opposed to having to put things on VISA and then pay back VISA)...

3. There are still avocados in the fridge. Mmmm, avocados.

4. I found the rice cooker a few days ago. I'd forgotten that we have a rice cooker! (It has now formed a holy trinity along with pressure cooker and crock pot.)

5. We have really nice weather today. My third client today wanted to go for a walk as part of her workout. So we got to go outside and enjoy the weather!

6. (Bonus round) The contractor is painting the kitchen ceiling today...or at least he will when he gets back from his errand...

Avocados in the fridge? Huh. I never thought of doing that. I guess I thought of them like bananas, things that might go mushy if refrigerated.

1. [livejournal.com profile] coffeeem sent me a shoggoth. (Some people call them sourdough starters. I find those people dull.)
2. I'm crockpotting a soup of random ingredients and it smells pretty good.
3. I wore my bright purple woolly sweater today.
4. I made it myself!
5. My absence from today's tap rehearsal was noticed and regretted.
6. (Bonus round) My cat is purring at me.

2. Eating the avocado that my boss brought me from his tree in Florida. I haven't had an avocado in a long time.

4. Resolved issues with my paypal account and now have a small financial windfall.

5. Plans for homemade sushi and then a movie for Valentines Day.

Yay niecephewlet!
1. Spellspam: Cybermage is now on my Kindle, and Alma Alexander's other books are available too now (won't be buying them, as I have paper versions already) which means number of Kindled YA books is increasing.
2. Promotion at work. Of the ones I've talked to so far, the people who will be reporting to me seem OK with it.
3. I hope to get back on the erg tomorrow, for the first time in 2+ weeks. Lungs permitting.
4. I seem to be most of the way well.
5. Tomorrow is Saturday and there is nothing I *have* to do, and nothing I have to get up early for.

1. A job offer, newly accepted. Making more money than I was before.
2. A good marriage. Watching a friend go through a bitter divorce has been reminding me how wonderful my husband is.
3. My daughter is periodically getting up and just standing. Flirting with the idea of walking.
4. Getting to go shopping again soon(see #1 above). I've been wearing ill-fitting clothes since my daughter was born, but with a new job, I have an excuse to spend a little money on clothes soon.
5. A nice glass of Sangiovese in the evening.

Yay, job offer!

I mean, yay the rest, too, but I actually already knew about the nift of your husband and daughter and your perception of same, so while it's still a nice thing to be reminded of, it's not in the same category as new good news.

1. Cold cranberry juice.

2. Minn-StF pool party tomorrow.

3. Enough time to get the backup script finally going this weekend, hence restoring the fileserver to full functionality. Finally. (So I can start getting caught up on photos; lots of stuff shot and not processed, including the start of a commercial project.)

4. Sigma 120-400mm lens is quite nice (and gives me some much-needed longer reach on the D700 full-frame sensor).

5. I think I'm having roast pork loin for dinner, and I don't even have to make it myself.

1. THE LITTLE BOOK OF ATHEIST SPIRITUALITY, which I'm trying to write up a review for and failing utterly because it is too awesome.

2. Finding an awesome book, by a WoC, on the YA New Books shelf at the library.

3. 4-day weekend.

4. Time to waste, apples and oranges and cookies to eat.

5. Balance, and the eternal quest for thereof. That was not a grammatically correct sentence.
