My calendar claims that it's National Ice Cream Day.

If my calendar is wrong, I don't want to be right.

I expect that gelato, sorbet, etc. counts for this festival as well, so I leave it in your capable hands.

But I just ate the last of my pomegranate-honey ice cream last night! (I had forgotten I had it, which is why it lasted so long.)

I'm not used to being early for things.

I am impressed, then, that today is the day I chose to inaugurate my new ice cream maker. Rather fitting.

How clever of your subconscious, to have processed those cues at such a time!

No? Well, I tried.

I saw this post earlier today and I thought "I should totally eat ice cream!"

Then I got all busy fixing up my bike -- because going cycling again is kinda good -- and I completely forgot. However, it's still today, and I've had a nice workout cycling up and down our street, so ice cream is not only appropriate, it's healthy!

Also, I'd like to add to the aphorism about never forgetting how to ride a bike (which is true enough to matter, but not wholly true) that you also don't forget how to use SPD mounts, and this is a better thing than not forgetting how to ride a bike.

I have known at least one person who forgot how to ride a bike while still retaining reasonable adult memories/bodily control/etc., but none who forgot how to eat ice cream. I leave you to draw your own conclusions about the wisdom of our aphorism choice in this language.

Now really, what was the central lesson of Fourth Street?

No, not [livejournal.com profile] skzbrust's goat! The central lesson was Mris knows from ice cream.
