Here are TV shows I think they should make for me based on what I already like:

1. Criminal West Wing. The President of the United States (John Lithgow) is a serial killer. His deputy chief of staff (Thomas Gibson) has to clean up after him, appealing once in awhile to the First Lady (Jane Lynch) for help.

2. Spencer's Mom For Hire. A brilliant woman with severe schizophrenia (Jane Lynch) solves crimes from her place in a mental hospital. Occasional cameos from her FBI agent son (Matthew Grey Gubler).

3. Martian Bones. A forensic areologist (Enrico Colantoni) tries to figure out what destroyed the ancient Martian civilization. The clash between working-class scientists and rich tourists is heightened when he begins a romance with the head of the largest tourist corporation (Jane Lynch).

Hee.

I don't know most of these actors, but I have become v. fond of Enrico Colantoni in Flashpoint.

Enrico <3 <3 <3.

He played the dad in Veronica Mars. He was awesome. There were so many awesome actors in that show, though. I think that Francis Capra should be his assistant on Martian Bones, and Tina Majorino should be his other assistant.

I'd buy all those DVDs! Jane Lynch should be in every show ever.

Spencer's Mom For Hire

I would pay so much money for this show. Hell, I would buy the tie-in novels with horrible pun titles.

I would especially love the crossover episode where she catches a mystery novelist (Angela Lansbury) who's been the most dangerous undetected serial killer in America for decades.

Oh, not just horrible pun titles. Horrible pun titles that are allusions to medieval and renaissance English Lit.

The Gutted Knight and John Gorer and The Slice of Bath.

I still think of John Lithgow as the crazy guy in Buckaroo Banzai, and the idea of Hotch cleaning up after him is FANTASTIC.

His lieutenants (Idris Elba, Phil Hartman) are out for his job, a hotshot gay gunman (Andy Dick) is threatening his turf, and a desperate junkie (Andre Royo) and an even more desperate homicide detective (Jane Lynch) are dedicated to putting him behind bars.

With Stephen Root as Prop Joe and Wendell Pierce as Jimmy James. Or something.

And now I'm wondering what happened to my NewsRadio icons. I had some, once.

zeborah: Map of New Zealand with a zebra salient (Criminal Minds)

I would watch all those. I'd probably only be a tremendous fan of Criminal West Wing(1), but you never know.

(1) Also I'd have a secret fan theory that it was actually Thomas Gibson who was the puppet master behind the murders. I'd plan an epic fanfic explaining it all, write the first chapter of it, and then realise that writing another few dozen chapters would be too much like work and decide that people could just infer the rest.

Sheridan & Mrs. Prentiss: A space station administrator (Bruce Boxleitner) and a hapless but high-powered American ambassador to everywhere (Kate Jackson) hunt a pair of ageless vampires (Christopher Plummer and Jane Lynch) through space and time. Guest appearances by Nikola Tesla (David Bowie) as the inventor of the Temporal Trangressifier and occasional Deus Ex Machina*.

(The vampires are just to make it officially crackfic.)

*I picture something very Time Bandity here.

Hee. We were doing Babylon Fences, with the Narn jurist G'dug (Fyvush Finkel) and the long-suffering judge (Claudia Christian) having arguments about interspecies policy with a Centauri lady who rules behind the scenes (Jane Lynch).

OoooOOOh.... Let us not forget Warehouse of Numb3rs where Saul Rubinek and David Krumholtz use mathematical theory to locate and obtain mysteriously "charged" items that are creating "magical" disruptions around the globe. I am Mentally casting Zooey Daschanel as the socially competent and practical agent who keeps the nerds from burning the warehouse down in unexpected incidents involving the making of cinnamon toast.

I would totally watch Martian Bones. I would wait in breathless anticipation for the colonists and prospectors to agitate rebellion over the Terrestrial exploitation of their home, while the tourism bosses withold needed imports in return for black market relics and the scientists try to stay neutral third parties while the ruins they're studying are despoiled in the names of avarice and survival.

Ooh, and in season three a charismatic mystic emigrates and begins converting people to a morally ambiguous cause threatening all three power groups. This will set the stage for martian reawakening in later seasons. (bwahaha)
