They have some wonderful qualities. None of which, however, pertain to this sport.
She's such a fighter. She cannot actually do this stuff.
He's a real competitor. Who never wins.
This time he really cared. As opposed to last time, when he trained for the Olympics because he didn't give a shit. But we demanded blood.
They fought for this one. And lost.
I think the eyes of redemption say it all. ...wait, what? This is beyond even my powers of translation. The eyes of...what? What?
It was heartfelt. They fell on their butts.
Wow. I am so tired of people falling on their butts.

Wow. "The eyes of redemption" sounds like something that would have been spoken by the lips of pretension after French kissing the tongue of inanity, and merely thinking about it is causing me to break out in the rash of antipathy.

Slather it with the antibiotic cream of webcomics!

At least the lips of pretension speak! The eyes of redemption merely cast glances!

My interpretation of "I think the eyes of redemption say it all" is "someone gave this man the wrong drugs, or nice drugs at the wrong time"; [livejournal.com profile] cattitude suggests that "The eyes of redemption say it all" sounds like a Grateful Dead album, but the "only sounds like English" reminds me of Yes.

Probably says something about my upbringing, but "only sounds like English" makes me think Roxette.

Oh thank goodness, there's someone else out there. "Shut up, Bob Costas," is one of the milder things I've been yelling at him. Although I have to say, I enjoyed the "eyes of redemption." That was good for at least 30 seconds of giggling while wondering whether you could turn Eyes of Redemption into a super power.

It's a paladin thing. +2 Eyes of Redemption, useful for eliminating threats without having to dispose of a body.

Or a massively bad 80's music video from a big hair band.

We groan at Costas, too -- and use the mute button a lot.

I must say "the eyes of redemption" looked like "the eyes of someone about to hurl himself down an icy slope at high speed on a flexible board while three other gnarly guys try to share his personal space." I greatly dislike having my feelings dictated to me.

Shut up, Bob Costas. And Chris Collinsworth, you too.

Yah, I said to Cris Collinsworth, "Now that I know who you are, I dislike you."
