Issue #76 of Beneath Ceaseless Skies is up, and it includes a short story of mine, The Witch's Second. Go, read, enjoy.

\o/ :-D and other expressions of happiness. Syth may be my favorite of your narrators, which is quite a trick considering that Carter Hall is also one of your narrators.

I really enjoyed that, thank you for writing it and posting the link! There was one thing that didn't quite work for me; is that a thing you'd want to hear about, or something to keep my peace about since the story is published? :-)

It depends what sort of thing it is. If it's a general thing that you feel is likely to show up again in stories of mine if not nipped in the bud, go ahead and e-mail me. If it's a thing that's just for this story, it's already published, so sharing on this point is not as useful.

I think this falls into the latter category. And it didn't keep me from enjoying the story lots and lots!

One of the greatest attributes of your short stories is the way they --without exception -- make me eager to know more about the characters and the world they inhabit.

I am trying very hard not to write another story with this narrator, but I keep hearing one of Lord Benderskeith's family servants telling Syth very stiffly, "Milord's heir is not a puppy."

Seconded, so to speak.

I was trying really hard not to just holler, "Novel! Want novel!"

I will do it, then: Novel! Want novel!

Because our Mris is so dearly in need of more novel ideas. (Insert sarcasm here. Also a rimshot.)

Ah, that one. For some reason the name didn't trigger the memory (it should have). I still like that a lot.

That was rather delicious. Particular how specific all the magical duel stuff was, and how nicely worked in the variant bits of world-structure were. Lovely tone too.

I also very much liked this. In fact, sitting alone in my room, with only the cat for company, I closed the story's window and said, aloud, "that was really good!" :)

That story was simply lovely. I put the e-version on my iPad for ease of rereading.

Although when I read the bit about it being your eightieth short story sale, I confess to feeling a pang of regret that I couldn't put the eighty story collection on my iPad too!

We are working on collections, but it won't be all eighty-some in one e-book, because that would be incredibly unwieldy.
