Oh woe, oh alack, oh despair.

Why is my life full of interesting people who say smart things and make me think about them so then I have ways to make my books suck less?

Wailie wailie. Poooooooor little me.

(Yes, [livejournal.com profile] dd_b, I'm talking about you, but I'm afraid it's also a more general problem. Sniffle. Sob.)

I had a moment while driving this afternoon when not only the penny dropped, but the whole bank did. This is not entirely conducive to driving, but very conducive to books, and all ended well for both me and the car.

Are you sure that sentence parses properly? I'm with you up until the last clause.

Hmmmm. I think so:

Life full of interesting people. Interesting people say smart things and make me think about those smart things. Then I have ways to make my books suck less.

Not really sure how else the last bit is supposed to go. My books don't suck any less now: I've been doing other things since I got hold of the smart thoughts and haven't had time for extensive revisions. But I have ways to make the books less sucky, and that's good.
