Yews

Me: We lack yews!
[livejournal.com profile] timprov: [sweet smile]
Me: Did you hear the Mr. Man out front? He's already removed them all.
[livejournal.com profile] timprov: Oh! I thought you were just talking in a funny accent and saying you like me!

Well, I do like the Timprov. But I also lack yews, and this makes me happy. I hated those damn yews. (The Mr. Man is the landscaper, pulling out rocks, stump, and yews so we can plant things in our front planter.)

Do I feel good this morning? No. Do I feel better? Definitely. This is the point where increased swelling and warmth would mean infection, so it's nice to see it decreasing instead. I am still not drive-safe, and I'm not sure I'll be able to do anything more than the trivial stuff to the book. Mostly another nothing-much day. Still, that's expected, and progress is good.

Hey, those of you who have recently friended me (and anyone else who feels like it): can you please introduce yourself? I'd like to know who's reading (and how you got here/why you stayed, if you remember).
mrissa: (question)
I had a brief but interesting conversation on e-mail this afternoon, and I'm circling around a theory, so I'd appreciate it if you could humor me here:

[Poll #519570]

Elaborate in the comments if you'd like, by all means.

I just sold another short story, "Even Without Deceit." This time it's to Fictitious Force, which is new. Yay sales! Sales make everybody feel better.

For those of you who have been following along at home, "Even Without Deceit" is in the same series as "MacArthur Station" (which was in Fortean Bureau) and "Glass Wind" (which was in the short-lived Twin Cities Magazine of Science Fiction and Fantasy). They will eventually be an episodic novel, but for now I'm just glad another one sold. Wheee!
