Open Letter to Abstract Object #449
Jun. 18th, 2007 09:39 pmDear Single Line Halfway Through Chapter 6,
Don't you go implying a-whole-nother book at me, missy!
No, I didn't infer it, you implied it, so don't try to play dumb.
Because this book isn't in A-flat major, that's how I know it's a different book completely! Also this book doesn't smell like lake ice!
Yes, I know I like books that smell like ice better. But that's not the book you're in, is it, so you'd best mind your p's and q's. (Yes, I know, there are three p's in you and no q's. Hush.)
I brought you into this world, and I can take you out of it.*
Reluctant (shiny!) love,
Me
*Who knew my mom's favorite not-really-mad line from my teen years applied to prose as well?

It only does it to annoy
Because it knows it teases

"That is a good idea. Thank you. I will consider writing that at some point in the future."
(Same thing just happened to me, except instead of an idea in a line, it was plot summary in a paragraph. Feh. These books! Who do they think they are?)

Date: 2007-06-19 12:16 pm (UTC)Then I went back to writing the book I'm writing.
I am not at all surprised that your books are a bit uppity sometimes.

Date: 2007-06-19 01:15 pm (UTC)I smell blossoms and the trees are bare
All day long I seem to walk on air
I wonder why
I wonder why
I keep tossing in my sleep at night
And what's more I've lost my appetite
Stars that used to twinkle in the skies
Are twinkling in my eyes
I wonder why
(Blame Irving Berlin, not me.)
